School To Skill Covid-19 Relief Virtual Reading Session For Kids & Teens. Session 1

 

So our school to skill project kicked off on August 21st, 2020 with Book Reading "Speak Up Don't Shhh.."& Sex Education/ Child protection rights (by Dr. Margaret Ebubedike-Ndulue)


About the facilitator Dr. Margaret Ebubedike-Ndulue Dr. Margaret is the author of the book "SPEAK UP DONT SHHH.." a book that gives a voice to children and vulnerable children exposed to potential abusers. She is a research associate with a UK university and is involved in international education research has carried out a series of research funded by the British govt under the widening participation scheme at the University of Worcester. She later moved to work at the Oxford University for a couple of months before joining the Open University Mylton Keynes where she is currently working on multiple international development research including the CHILD project in Zimbabwe and the Sage project in Zimbabwe in partnership with PLAN International, the govt of Zimbabwe, DFID and world vision and many more. She is also In partnership with the African council for distant education, she has also been on a project supporting African University lecturers to move their teaching online in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The main character in this book is about a brave little girl called "Amira". Through her story, children will be made to understand that their are some secrets, which should not be kept,no matter who had asked. This book also passes across another important message to children..anything which makes you feel frightened, uncomfortable or unhappy should not be kept a secret.

About School To Skill Project The school to skill project founded by Barr Chioma Ebubedike Igbokwe in 2011 is a 1 CHILD 1 SKILL PROJECT early skill development initiative geared towards achieving some of the SDG goals, decent work and economic growth, no poverty, zero hunger. Our Vision 2030 is to have at least one school to skill innovation hub/center in as many states as possible in Nigeria. Where young persons within age 7 to 25 will be trained in entrepreneurship, reading, vocational skills, and showcase their finished products. A hub where young people can team up and rub minds on their recent inventions and handwork, attracting investors and tourists to buy and invest in Made in Nigeria. Our goal is to LEARN &ENGAGE. The School To Skill Covid-19 Relief Free E Creative Zoom Session For Kids & Teens is our virtual E creative zoom sessions that engages young out of school children and teenagers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
